Gulfstream Unveils the All-New G300: A Next-Generation Super-Midsize Jet

September 30, 2025 marked another milestone in the evolution of business aviation. At its headquarters in Savannah, Georgia, Gulfstream Aerospace unveiled the all-new Gulfstream G300, a clean-sheet design that replaces the G280 and sets a fresh benchmark in the super-midsize category.

A Cabin Built for Comfort and Efficiency

The G300 cabin seats up to 10 passengers across two flexible zones. True to Gulfstream’s heritage, it features the signature panoramic oval windows, 100% fresh air through a plasma-ionization purification system, and an exceptionally low cabin altitude of 4,800 ft at 41,000 ft cruise.

Noise reduction and ergonomics are key themes, making the aircraft appealing for both corporate shuttle missions and long transcontinental trips. Gulfstream’s philosophy of “big jet comfort in a midsize footprint” is evident here.

Performance That Extends the Market

The G300 delivers a range of 3,600 nm at Mach 0.80 or 3,000 nm at Mach 0.84, comfortably connecting city pairs such as New York - London or Los Angeles - Honolulu. A 45,000 ft service ceiling ensures efficient cruise and operational flexibility.

With advanced Honeywell powerplants and a newly optimized wing, Gulfstream promises both fuel efficiency and the performance reliability expected at this level of the market.

A Flight Deck Designed for the Future

Gulfstream introduces its Harmony Flight Deck on the G300, equipped with six large touchscreens and a smart, phase-of-flight interface that adapts information displays to each stage of operation.

Safety technologies include Synthetic Vision 3D terrain awareness, Predictive Landing Performance System, and advanced data monitoring that directly supports flight crews in making timely, informed decisions.

This aligns the G300’s cockpit more closely with the ultra-long-range Gulfstream flagships, offering continuity for operators with mixed fleets.

Entry Into Service and Certification

The G300 program is advancing rapidly, with over 22,000 hours of systems testing already completed and flight test articles in assembly. Gulfstream expects the type to enter service in early 2027, following a rigorous certification campaign with multiple aircraft.

The company positions the G300 against strong competitors such as the Bombardier Challenger 3500, Cessna Citation Longitude, and Embraer Praetor 600 - but aims to differentiate with a cabin experience and flight deck technology not yet seen in the segment.

What It Means for the Market

The Gulfstream G300 signals the manufacturer’s intention to reassert itself in the super-mid category, bridging the gap between midsize operating costs and large-cabin luxury.

For corporate flight departments, fleet managers, and owner-operators alike, the G300 presents a compelling option that blends range, efficiency, and cabin refinement.

At TSH aviation, we will be closely tracking the G300’s development, certification, and market reception. As Gulfstream prepares its next chapter, this aircraft could reshape the competitive dynamics of the super-midsize space over the next decade.
